Karen Iris Tucker is a freelance writer and reporter in New York City. She has covered women’s health since 1994, and interviewed leading geneticists from around the world on emerging therapies for such publications as the Bergen Record, Jewish Daily Forward, New York Sun and MAMM.
She has regularly covered arts and culture since 1989, and has contributed to Spin, Interview and the Village Voice. Recently, she profiled comedienne Sandra Bernhard for The Forward and musicians Le Tigre for Time Out New York.
Her reporting on politics has featured interviews with congressmen Barney Frank and James E. Clyburn, among other elected officials. Far-flung subjects she has tackled, all with equal vigor, include pilates for golfers, animal-assisted therapy, roller derby, and latkes.
